What data we collect and why
Account data
When you create an account we collect your full name, email address, and playing handedness. We collect this to provide you with a personalised account and to communicate with you about your analyses. Legal basis: contract performance.
Swing videos
When you upload a swing video, we store the video file temporarily in order to analyse it. The video is sent to Anthropic (Claude AI) for analysis and then retained in our storage. Legal basis: contract performance.
Analysis results
We store the coaching feedback, identified faults, drills, and exercises generated from your swing analysis. This forms the basis of your progress tracking and Bag Report features. Legal basis: contract performance.
Club and equipment data
We store which clubs you have in your bag and your handedness to personalise the analysis and progress features. Legal basis: contract performance.
Payment data
Payments are processed entirely by Paddle.com, who acts as the Merchant of Record. We do not collect or store your payment card details. We receive confirmation from Paddle that a purchase was made, which we use to credit your account with analyses. Legal basis: contract performance.
Usage data
We collect data about how you use the app — which features you use, how many analyses you complete, and milestone progress. We use this to improve the product and to send you relevant milestone rewards. Legal basis: legitimate interest.
Feedback data
If you complete an in-app feedback survey, we store your ratings and written responses to improve the product. Legal basis: legitimate interest.
Who we share your data with
We share data with the following third parties. All are bound by data processing agreements:
- Anthropic, Inc. (USA) — your swing video frames are sent to Claude AI for analysis. Anthropic processes this data under Standard Contractual Clauses for GDPR compliance. Privacy policy
- Paddle.com (UK/USA) — processes payments as Merchant of Record. Privacy policy
- Supabase / Lovable (EU infrastructure) — our database, file storage, and backend functions run on infrastructure hosted in the EU. Privacy policy
- Resend (USA) — used to send transactional emails. Operates under Standard Contractual Clauses. Privacy policy
- YouTube / Google (USA) — drill tutorial videos are embedded from YouTube. Google may set cookies when you play a video. We use youtube-nocookie.com to minimise this. Privacy policy
We do not sell your data. We do not share your data with advertisers.
How long we keep your data
- Swing videos: retained for 90 days after upload, then automatically deleted
- Analysis results and coaching feedback: retained while your account is active
- Account data: retained while your account is active
- Payment transaction records: retained for 7 years (Swedish accounting law requirement)
- Feedback survey responses: retained for 2 years
Your rights under GDPR
You have the right to:
- Access — request a copy of all data we hold about you
- Correction — request correction of inaccurate data
- Deletion — request deletion of your account and all associated data (except payment records required by law)
- Portability — request your data in a machine-readable format
- Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interest
- Withdrawal of consent — withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with Integritetsskyddsmyndigheten (IMY), the Swedish data protection authority, at imy.se.
Data transfers outside the EU
Some of our service providers are based outside the EU/EEA, specifically in the USA. These transfers are covered by Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission, ensuring your data receives equivalent protection.
Children
SwingCloud is not intended for users under 16 years of age. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16. If you become aware that a child under 16 has created an account, please contact us at admin@swingcloud.com.
Changes to this policy
We will notify you by email at least 30 days before making material changes to this policy.
